Que es l’ansietat?
L’ansietat és una señal automática normal d’alerta i control que s’activa en les persones davant la percepció d’una amenaça, risc o perill.
Un cert nivell d’ansietat afavoreix el desenvolupament personal i l’enfrentament de situacions adverses, però quan els nivells d’ansietat son tan alts que interfereix en el rendiment psicologic, social, acadèmic i/o laboral de la persona que la pateix, cal que pugui ser tractada per tal de disminuir el gran patiment que comporta i poder recuperar la vida normal.
Cal tractar l’ansietat:
- quan es desencadena sense cap causa aparent,
- quan la seva intensitat no es justifica pels posibles factors desencadenants,
- quan va acompanyada de por a morir-se o pànic a tornar-se boig ,
- quan s’activa automaticament en situacions que generalment no seria necessari, com per exemple en sortir al carrer, al agafar un avió, un transport públic…
- quan va acompanyada de “rituals” (manies) quan s’ha fet una determinada tasca (ex. Rentarse les mans, reassegurar-se que s’ha tencat amb clau abans de sortir de casa…)
- quan hi ha una hipervigilància temerosa i preocupació excesiva per la propia salut o de les persones estimades.
Com es manifesta l’ansietat? Quins son els seus simptomes?
L’ansietat té manifestacions psíquiques i somàtiques (corporals).
Manifestacions psiquiques:
- Aprensió
- Sensació d’alerta (angoixant)
- Augment de la tensió, constricció.
- Sentiments de temor o previsió de perills.
- Preocupació i hipervigiancia.
- Sensació de fatiga, distracció i dificultats de concentració.
- Insomni de primera hora. Augment del desvetllar nocturn.
Manifestacions somàtiques:
Es presenten sobretot als aparells circulatori, respiratori, sistema nerviós i aparell gastrointestinal) Les més habituals son:
- Aparell circulatori:
- Taquicàrdia i palpitacions, hipertensió, pal.lidesa o rubor.
- Opresió o malestar al pit.
- Aparell respiratori:
- Dispnea (sensació subjectiva de falta d’aire) o hiperventilació
- Sistema nerviós:
- Dolors, tremolors, tensió muscular i espasmes
- Vertigen, inestabilitat, mareig, desmais.
- Aparell gastrointestinal:
- Formigueix, suor fred i calfreds.
- Sequedat de boca, dolors abdominals, diarrees i dispepsia (digestió alterada o aviciada)
- Anorèxia (manca de ganes de menjar) o bulímia (sensació de gana intensa, imperiosa i insaciable)
Transtorns d’ansietat
En adolescents i adults, una manera freqüent de debutar l’ansietat patològica és mitjançant una crisi d’ansietat, (reacció de malestar i por que es presenta de repent, acompanyada d’algunes de les manifestacions psiquiques i/o somàtiques abans esmentades) que si no es tracta pot anar repetint-se i evolucionar cap a un transtorn més o menys agut o crònic d’ansietat.
Els transtorns d’ansietat més habituals son:
- Transtorn de panic.
- Agorafobia.
- Fobia social.
- Fobies especifiques
- Transtorn per estrés agut
- Transtorn per estrés post-traumàtic.
- Transtorn obsessiu-compulssiu
- Transtorn per ansietat generalitzada.
- Transtorns adaptatius que cursen amb ansietat (i depressio de vegades)
El que caracteritza aquest funcionament com a patològic es el fet que la persona que pateix el transtorn desenvolupa respostes evitatives, es a dir, tracta d’evitar les situacions, pensaments, accions… que li produeixen les reaccions fisiológiques desagradables i els pensaments i emocions dolorossos, invertint gran quantitat d’energia mental per mantenir aquests continguts fora de la consciencia. Però el problema es que els esforços per evitar asquestes experiencies, tenen l’efecte contrari, doncs la persona se sent cada vegada mes vulnerable i amb menys control.
Com tractem l’ansietat a PSICOLOGIA CLINICA SANT ANDREU ?
Es habitual definir l’ansietat com una por sense causa. A Psicología Clínica Sant Andreu creiem que sempre hi ha una causa, encara que al principi, sigui inconscient o desconeguda per la persona que la pateix.
Per tant l’objectiu de les primeres visites és juntament amb la persona que consulta, descobrir quina és aquesta causa. Per fer això en el procés diagnòstic, partim de tres preguntes simples però essencials: que li passa?(que el fa patir?) Des de quan? Amb que ho relaciona?
A partir d’aquest moment, la persona acompanyada pel seu/seva terapeuta, comença a interrogar-se, a mirar dintre seu, a fer un treball d’introspecció, que li va permetent descobrir quin és el veritable temor que li produeix tanta ansietat.
La terapia que seguirà, (mes o menys intensa, depenent de la gravetat del transtorn) es centrarà en desenvolupar totes les eines a l’abast de la persona que consulta, per tal de lluitar contra aquesta por.
I tot això, dintre d’un clima de proximitat, comprensió, i respecte envers la seva intimitat i el seu patiment, que es el que afavoreix l’expressió de les emocions i el desenvolupament del pensament que propiciara la comprensió del desencadenant de l’ansietat i per tant, la seva disminució o desaparició i la recuperació de la vida normal.
